End Date: 6/12/2018 12:00 AM

The interrogation site is installed within the outlet of the lower most pond in the Methow Salmon Recovery Foundations pond complex on the Twisp River, located 1.6 Rk upstream from the confluence with the Methow River. The outlet is approximately 60 ft. in length with a wetted width of 3 ft. The detection systems are installed in series within the outlet and are comprised of three model 2001F-ISO portable, PIT tag detection units using 24 X 24pass-through antennas. The interrogation systems are intended to monitor juvenile escapement, in-pond and smolt to smolt survival. The systems are operational during juvenile acclimation and dates vary by year depending on environmental conditions. Typical times of operation for this site are March 15 to June 15.

7/23/2018 12:17:29 PM General Interrogation event log for the Lower Twisp Ponds Acclimation Site (LTP)-2018 release PIT tag interrogation (Antenna 01) for the Lower Twisp Ponds, began on 05-01-2018 at 1900 hrs. Antenna (01) was located approximately 1.0 meters upstream of the outlet grate of the lowermost pond. Antenna (01) was never moved, but was shut down on 05-31-2018 at 1445 hrs upon finding the antenna was broken. A total of 10 files were created and incorporated into a single file. PIT tag interrogation (Antenna 02) for the Lower Twisp Ponds began on 03-29-2018 at 1200 hrs. Antenna (02) was located 20.0 meters downstream of the outlet grate of the lowermost pond and 2.0 meters above the confluence to the Twisp River. Antenna (02) did not have any lapse in coverage and was never moved. A total of 12 files were created and incorporated into a single file with the last download on 06-11-2018 following 3 days of zero unique hatchery coho PIT tag detections. YN staff snorkeled the pond on 06-11-2018 to confirm the ponds were devoid of hatchery coho. All interrogation equipment was removed from the site on 06-13-2018.
6/14/2017 9:47:32 AM General Interrogation event log for the Lower Twisp Ponds Acclimation Site (LTP)-2017 release PIT tag interrogation (Antenna 01) for the Lower Twisp Ponds, began on 03-28-2017 at 1200 hrs. Antenna (01) was located approximately 2.0 meters downstream of the outlet grate of the lowermost pond. Antenna (01) was never moved and did not experience any lapse in coverage. A total of 21 files were created, with the last download completed on 05-30-2017 at 0845 hrs following five days of no coho PIT tag detections. All 21 files were incorporated into one single file. High turbidity impeded visual confirmation via snorkel survey. All antennas and equipment were removed on 5-30-2017. PIT tag interrogation (Antenna 02) for the Lower Twisp Ponds began on 04-24-2017 at 2000 hrs. Antenna (02) was located 20 meters downstream of Antenna (01) and approximately 2.0 meters upstream from the confluence with the Twisp River. Antenna (02) was never moved, and did not experience any lapse in coverage. A total of 12 files were created, with the last download completed on 05/30/2017 at 0900 hrs. All 12 files were incorporated into one single file. All interrogation equipment was removed on 05-30-2017 after five days of zero new unique PIT tags recorded.
6/16/2016 1:42:00 PM General Interrogation event log for the Lower Twisp Pond Acclimation Site (LTP)-2016 release Acclimation of juvenile coho salmon began on March 25, 2016 and ended May 25, 2016. This group of fish at the Lower Twisp Ponds did not receive PIT tags during spring acclimation in 2016. No pass-through PIT antennas were installed at the outlet of the pond during this time.
6/17/2015 4:44:02 PM General Interrogation event log for the Lower Twisp Pond Acclimation Site (LTP)-2015 release PIT tag interrogation (Antenna 01) for the Lower Twisp Ponds, began on 04-09-2015 at 1200 hrs, and was located approximately 2 meters downstream from the outlet grate of the pond. Antenna 01 was never moved and did not appear to experience any lapse in coverage. A total of seven files were downloaded throughout antenna 01’s interrogation duration. PIT tag detection was observed prior to release, and was attributed to a void between the inlet screen and the streambed. The last download for this antenna occurred on 06-10-2015 at 1045 hrs, following eleven days of no coho PIT tag detections, as well as a snorkel survey to confirm the pond void of coho. All antennas and equipment were removed on 06-10-2015.  PIT tag interrogation (Antenna 02) for the Lower Twisp Ponds, began on 04-09-2015 at 1035 hrs.  Antenna 02 was never moved and did not appear to experience any lapse in coverage.  One file was downloaded throughout the interrogation period and occurred on 04-15-2015 at 1200 hrs.  PIT tag interrogation (Antenna 03) for the Lower Twisp Ponds, began on 05-03-2015 at 1200 hrs. Antenna 03 was located approximately 2 meters upstream of the confluence with the Twisp River.  Antenna 03 was never moved and did not appear to experience any lapse in coverage.  A total of five files were downloaded throughout the interrogation period. The last download for this antenna occurred on 06-10-2015 at 1040 hrs, following eleven days of no coho PIT tag detections, as well as a snorkel survey to confirm the pond void of coho.
6/18/2014 3:36:24 PM General Interrogation event log for the Lower Twisp Pond Acclimation Site (LTP)-2014 release PIT tag interrogation (Antenna A) for the Lower Twisp Ponds, began on 04-05-2014 at 1544 hrs, and was located approximately 3 meters downstream from the outlet of the pond.   Antenna A was never moved, but the transceiver was discovered to be off when checked on 04-20-2014 at 1722 hrs. Antenna A was turned back on later that day at 1902 hrs.  A total of six files were downloaded throughout antenna A’s interrogation period. PIT tag detection was observed prior to the release date of 05-12-2014 at 1915 hrs. These escapes, are attributed to a void between the outlet screen and the streambed. The last download for this antenna occurred on 05-30-2014 at 1104 hrs, following a three day period of no PIT tag detections, as well as a snorkel survey to confirm the pond void of coho. All antennas and equipment were pulled on 05-30-2014.  PIT tag interrogation (Antenna B) for the Lower Twisp Ponds, began on 05-01-2014 at 0702 hrs. Antenna B was located 2 meters downstream of antenna A.  Antenna B was never moved and did not experience any lapse in coverage.  A total of eight files were downloaded throughout antenna B’s interrogation period.
