NAU - Upper Nason Creek

This is a permanent instream PIT tag interrogation site at rkm 19 located on upper Nason Creek. The site consists of two rows of antennas, with each row spanning the wetted width of the channel during base flows. Each row consists of 3 15-foot PVC antennas, installed in flat-plate configuration. The FS1001M transceiver is powered by a thermoelectric generator. The antennas were built and installed by WDFW. A cellular modem is installed on site to provide remote communication and allow for automated data collection. A submersible pressure transducer and temperature probes are installed on site to monitor environmental conditions.

On 5 March antenna 3 lost amps and noise spiked. On 26 March antenna 2 lost amps and noise spiked. 

On 12 April coax cable was found damaged to antenna 3 and was replaced. Coax cable to antenna 2 was also replaced. The site is now working with the exception of antenna 6 which needs to be replaced.

Restarted Upper Nason, propane filled. Site offline from 11/20/22-2/3/23. All antennas working.

Site ran out of propane 11-20-22. Waiting on Amerigas to deliver fuel inclement weather and staffing causing delays.

Antennas 3 and 5 were plugged back in on 3/22/22. They came unplugged on 1/6/22.

Interrogation site NAL lost power on 03/03/2022. Permanent propane tank at site was not refueled by gas company. Power was restored and site was brought back online on 03/21/2022.

10/21/2021 12:00:00 AM General

Sites permanent propane tank ran out of gas on 10/3/21. Fuel service provider was contacted. Site was restarted on 10/21/21.

2/17/2021 9:42:00 AM SiteDown Due to issues with the TEG and heavy snowplowing activity the site was without power from 1-27-21 to 2-17-21.
4/7/2020 3:32:19 PM SiteDown Issues with thermal propane generator caused a loss of current at array from 3/12/20 at 13:00 to 3/17/20 at 11:00 as well as from 3/25/20 at 14:30 to 3/31/20 at 12:00.
4/3/2020 7:12:28 AM General Mux has lost its settings. I logged on remotely to change the mux ID from F0 to 40.
1/1/2020 5:00:00 PM General At interrogation site NAU on 1/01/2020 at approximately 17:00, Antenna #3 went offline.
6/27/2017 8:53:00 AM General Automated data uploading stopped on 12/8/16 and resumed on 6/27/17. The modem at the site was replaced.
3/13/2017 12:00:00 AM SiteDown Site was not working properly from 1/27/17 at approximately 10:00 to 3/13/17 at approximately 11:30 due to power, modem, and MUX issues.
12/8/2016 12:00:00 PM SiteDown At interrogation site NAU on 12/8/2016 at approximately 12:05 PM, site lost power. Site has not operated since 12/8/2016.
12/8/2016 11:18:00 AM SiteDown Site was down from 12/8/16 at 12:05 to 12/20/16 at 21:44.
3/6/2016 12:19:00 PM General Interrogation site NAU went offline at approximately 12:19 PM from loss of power. Site was brought back online 3/7/2016 at approximately 14:03 PM.
12/29/2015 8:15:52 AM SiteDown The NAU array TEG stopped running and power was lost on approximately 12/26/15 at 04:30. The array was powered back up on 12/28/15 at approximately 10:30. The MUX had a lithium battery failure and did not begin proper function until 12/28/15 at approximately 15:00.
11/23/2014 1:16:00 PM SiteDown The NAU array was off from 11/23/14 at 11:22 to 11/24/14 at 17:54. The propane safety shutoff was activated when the TEG unit was struck by plowed snow.
7/25/2014 1:07:06 PM General At interrogation site NAU there was an error that occured in the FS1001M. The most recent test tag was recorded on 7/14/14 at 21:17:05. The error was cleared on 7/25/14 at 13:30:00 and normal function should be returned.
12/31/2013 8:00:00 AM General NAU operated without interruption in 2013.
