This site is a permanent instream PIT tag detection system located at rkm 81.2 on the Wenatchee River, near Plain, WA. The site consists of 6 20-foot antennas in a single row, installed in flat-plate configuration. The row of antennas spans the wetted width of the channel during base flows. The antennas were built and installed by WDFW. The site is powered by a thermoelectric generator. A Campbell Scientific CR-1000 data logger and cellular modem are installed on site to automate data collection and provide remote communication. A water temperature and pressure probe, and an air temperature probe are also installed on site to monitor environmental conditions.

9/18/2018 3:46:00 PM General New 4G modem installed and new Biomark data logger probe board added.
3/16/2018 2:00:00 PM General At interrogation site UWE on 3/16/2018 at approximately 2:00 PM, two dropped PIT tags were removed from antenna #4. Tags were creating noise and causing antenna to not function properly. All antennas are now functioning and site is fully operational.
5/5/2017 9:00:00 AM General At interrogation site UWE on 5/5/2017 at approximately 9:00 AM, Mux lost communication with modem. Communication was down from 5/5/2017 to approximately 5/10/2017.
8/12/2016 12:00:00 PM General At interrogation site UWE, on 8/12/2016 at approximately 12:00pm, antenna #2 was replaced. All antennas are functioning properly. Site is fully operational.
11/19/2015 3:35:00 PM General At interrogation site UWE, Antenna #2 lost current on 11/19/2015 and is no longer operational.

9/5/2013 4:30:00 PM General UWE site lost power and was down from 9/5/13 at 04:30 until 10/14/13 at 10:45. The thermoelectric generator failed, resulting in a loss of power to the site until a replacement TEG could be installed. A replacement TEG was installed on 10/14/13. Data from 10/14 through 10/22 was uploaded manually, as the power failure also caused the battery supply for the CR1000 to fail. A replacement battery for the CR1000 was installed on 10/22, and data is being automatically uploaded daily.
