In-river detection system consisting of four 8ft x 20ft antennas in the Columbia River Estuary. The array (PD7) is located at river km 70 (46.14661N, -123.379867W), is operated by NOAA Fisheries, and was installed for testing on 8 August, 2011 and later modified for continuous monitoring on 11 August, 2011. The array includes an IS1001 transceiver (firmware v1.7.1) and individual IS1001 readers. Electrical power is provided by a solar panel array with backup battery power, and remote communication is provided by a cellular modem. Antenna groups are named based on their orientation relative to the pile dike starting with Configuration Sequence 180. Prior configurations were named based on orientation relative to flow.

In 2022, PD7 operated from 30 March through 4 October 2022. In total, PD7 detected 491 tagged fish including 184 spring/summer Chinook salmon, 112 fall Chinook salmon, 83 steelhead, 44 coho salmon, 9 sockeye salmon, 43 white sturgeon, and 16 fish with no species information in PTAGIS. We plan to reinstall PD7 in Spring 2023. |

We resumed power to PD7 on 3/30/2022 and are currently operating antennas 01, 02, and 04. In February 2022, we had removed the electronics box and all remaining antennas at PD7 for repair or replacement. We reinstalled the electronics box and antennas 01, 02, and 04 throughout March 2022, and plan to add an additional 2-3 antennas throughout April. |

We were unable to operate PD7 in 2021 due to continued COVID-19 restrictions, and it has remained shutdown since September 2020. We have plans to re-install PD7 next year and hope to resume PIT interrogation at this site by spring of 2022. |
