P5 Release Notes

Released 03/25/2026

• Updated digitizer board data entry to filter out spurious pen clicks generated by CalComp DrawingBoard VI, which could result in erroneous Length values. See related news item for more information.
• Updated the Column Layout tool in Record Management to allow restoring the default column layout to all Sessions within P5.
• Updated the Validation procedure to check for duplicate values within a Session in the following fields:
  • Genetic ID
  • Scale ID
  • Acoustic Tag
  • Radio Tag
  • Second PIT Tag
• Added native Bluetooth support for input devices.
• Fixed a bug related to importing P4 configuration files.
• Fixed bugs related to Query Management.
• Fixed a crash that occurred when exiting a data‑collection Session while the computer had no internet access.

• Updated right-click menu in Session Management to add an option to see the Load Status Report for one session with a Provisional or Rejected submission status
• Changed weight and length validation to ignore Talley records
• Bug fixes for issues with copying, moving, and renaming folders and sessions in Session Management

• Added support for an external GPS unit that uses the GPS + GLONASS satellite system.
• Added multi-user database support for installing the database on a SQL Server and accessing it from one or more client computers running P5. Please see this page for more information: Multi-user Support.
• Added support for the Biomark BPR 3001 handheld reader (tested only against a prototype).
• Revamped Session Explorer. NOTE: Drag-and-drop is no longer supported for moving Sessions or Folders in P5. Sessions or folders can be moved from an option in the right-click menu or from the Move button in the tool bar in Session Management.
• General bug fixes and enhancements
